Derrick Kooker, Physician Assistant

Derrick Kooker, PA-C is a certified physician assistant at The Heart & Vascular Center at Valley View. Derrick joins us from Penrose-St. Francis Health Services in Colorado Springs where he is the chief PA for their cardiothoracic surgery program. Derrick has expertise in all aspects of adult cardiothoracic surgery, including robotics, minimally invasive surgery options, Atrial Fibrilation (A-Fib), and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Derrick received his Bachelors of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida and is a member of the American Academy of PA’s in Cardiovascular Surgery (APAPVS). Derrick is also one of two flight surgeons for the state of Wyoming.
